Transportation

There are several different forms of public transportation services available to the students from one location to another location. Here are the choices students have when they are here. 

Town bus or known commonly known as "Bus Bandar"

Town bus 

The students can go to the town with a cheaper transportation fare (RM 2/one way) by using public bus. The students can enjoy the rides around Kuala Terengganu with these public buses which were designed like wood house.

UMT bus

UMT bus 

i) UMT bus is provided for the students to send them to Kuala Terengganu Bus Station during the semester break. 

ii)The university also offers shuttle bus service for students who leave nearby the university to send them to various faculties in campus. 

iii) UMT bus is also provided for the Indian students on every Friday to go a nearby temple which is located at KT town.

Car Rental Service 

For students who are planning to spend some time at the town,they can always rent a car nearby the hostel. So far, there are 3 to 4 car rental shops nearby UMT. Kancil,Viva and Myvi is the car model that will be usually given for rental. Both auto and manual cars are available. The price ranges from RM6-8 for per hour. 

Taxis 

Taxis are always available throughout the day until midnight. Roughly it will cost RM25 from Kuala Terengganu Bus Station to UMT. Kuala Terengganu Taxi Terminal is just opposite the Town Bus Terminal. The town taxi provides interstate and inter district journey.  

Van 

Van or also known as ‘van sapu’ in Malay is another choice for the students to go to the town. The cost to go to the town is around RM3-5/one way. Students can also get the van to go to the campus from hostel for just 40 cents per trip.

Airlines 

If the students are alert with Air Asia promotions,they can also take the flight back home. Sultan Mahmud Airport is just nearby the university as well.
