Note for Freshers

This section is the one you got to refer if you are accepted by UMT because we have some notes for you.

First of all, CONGRATES for being accepted by UMT and you are going to be in a whole new environment and lifestyle here. 

1. Like the UMT PIFI Page on FB and if you have any questions,do post it on the wall as we have lots of seniors there to help and guide you. 

2. Wait till you get your letter of acceptance. All the details will be sent to you. If you have been offered a course which is not your cup of tea,don't reject it immediately. Do consider to come here and attend few lectures and get know the course first. If you think,the course is not suitable for you,you can always change the course and continue your studies here. Please make use of the opportunity given to you. 

3. If you are applying for PTPTN loan, please make sure you prepare all the documents they asked for. Do remember to verify the documents to avoid any problems later. 

4. When it comes to shopping,remember that we have Mydin & Giant here. You can buy some necessary things you need from your hometown and you can get other things here. There is no need to bring lots of things from home. 

5. Be prepared for your one week orientation. It's all about knowing UMT. 

6. You are now eligible to experience something that none of the students in any other local university get a chance to. SEA SURVIVAL! SURVIVAL LAUT. Every UMT student MUST go for sea survival programme after the orientation. You will be going to Pulau Bidong and required to do 5 activities; swimming, kayaking, jungle trekking, fishing and snorkeling. It's a two day one night programme. It's a lifetime experience and you should not miss it. 

7. You will be having an orientation programme by Baratham Cultural Club(KKB) too. This is to help you to get know KKB and also your Indian seniors.
