It was a proud moment for Indian students in UMT when UMT Student Council 2011/2012 had 2 Indian representatives,Mr.Vinodh and Mr.Siva Prakash. Indian students are a minority in UMT with only about 300 students and the chances of winning was a question. Yet,with the right strategy and hardwork, they both won and made it. Mr.Vinodh Elamkovam was the Deputy Secretary General and the Exco of Academic, Career and Leadership. Mr.Siva Prakash Arikrishnan was the Exco of Corporate Relations, Public and Internationalization. They have fought for the welfare of Indian students and brought lots of changes too. Their service and contributions will always be remembered and appreciated.

STAR FC Team

Their journey started on 2009 and till today,STAR FC holds the record for winning the most futsal competition in UMT. STAR FC is one of the strongest competitors in UMT. STAR FC players were selected to join the university team and represented UMT for intervarsity futsal competitions. STAR FC has proved that when you have passion and strong will,nothing can stop you from reaching the STAR.

UMT was the 1st Runner Up for the East Coast Debate Cup 2012 organized by IIUM Kuantan. Miss Ravisha, Miss Durga and Mr.Siva Prakash were in a team and yes,they won 2nd place. They are senior debaters who are known for their excellent debating skills in UMT. They even represented UMT internationally.
